The transition to Middle School
Our Middle School begins with MYP 1 (Grade 6). Students are expected to demonstrate their competencies in English and Mathematics through both oral and written assessments. To facilitate this transition, PYP 5 students participate in a transition day with the MYP 1 (Grade 6) teachers and students. During this day, their senior peers will guide them around the school and help them acclimate to middle school life.
In addition to the transition day for students, Grade 5 parents are invited to attend information sessions and coffee mornings with the secondary principal and the MYP coordinator. These events provide an opportunity for parents to understand the new environment, ask questions, and prepare for this significant change.
