Annual School Trips 2025: Building Memories, Skills, and Friendships

Annual School Trips 2025: Building Memories, Skills, and Friendships

At ICS Paris, one of our most cherished traditions is the Annual School Trip, which took place at the end of September for students from Grades 5 to 10. These trips marked the start of the academic year with excitement, discovery, and adventure, giving every student the opportunity to connect, grow, and learn beyond the classroom walls.

Each year, students travel to different parts of France for several days—depending on their age group—to take part in a range of outdoor and experiential learning activities. The programmes were carefully designed to promote teamwork, leadership, and personal development, while offering students the chance to discover new skills and interests.

From kayaking and sailing to orienteering, climbing, and circus workshops, students embraced challenges that strengthened their confidence, independence, and resilience—valuable life skills that extend well beyond academics. Judging from the smiles, laughter, and feedback we received, all groups had a truly memorable experience.

Exploring France and Building Community

This year, our Grade 5 students enjoyed a wonderful trip to La Saulaie in Chédigny, where they combined learning, creativity, and teamwork through a series of engaging workshops and outdoor activities.

Students in Grades 6 to 10 travelled to different regions across France, each with unique settings and programmes designed to challenge and inspire them. Whether hiking through forests, tackling team-building challenges, or taking part in water sports and adventure courses, each group had opportunities to learn new skills, build stronger bonds, and create lasting memories.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

These annual trips have long been a cornerstone of the ICS Paris experience, welcoming new students and reuniting returning ones in a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. They provided meaningful opportunities for students to develop communication, collaboration, and perseverance—skills that are essential for success both in and out of the classroom.

Teachers also valued the chance to observe their students in new contexts, strengthening relationships and fostering a positive class community for the year ahead.

At ICS Paris, we believe that education extends far beyond academics. These shared adventures embodied our commitment to nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, and physically—through experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, and connection.
