IBDP Orientation Trip 2025

From 27 to 29 August 2025, ICS Paris International School proudly hosted its annual IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Orientation Trip, a three-day retreat designed to welcome and prepare our new IBDP Year 1 students for the exciting two-year journey ahead.

Before the official start of the September term, our IBDP1 students traveled off campus with the IBDP Coordinator, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) teacher, Extended Essay (EE) Coordinator, and University Counsellors. This dedicated team guided students through a rich schedule of workshops and team-building activities aimed at strengthening personal connections, exploring academic expectations, and setting a confident tone for the coming academic year.

During the trip, students:

Learned about subject selections, core components, and the rigorous assessment criteria of the IB Diploma.
Reviewed key information on internal and external deadlines, exam patterns, and IB policies.
Participated in reflective and collaborative exercises that highlighted individual strengths and areas for growth.

Beyond the academic orientation, the retreat fostered trust and camaraderie. By engaging in carefully planned activities, students and faculty gained valuable insight into one another’s learning styles and support needs. This understanding will help ensure a positive, collaborative environment throughout the challenging—and rewarding—two years of the IBDP.
