At ICS Paris, sustainability is a core pillar of our educational identity. As a multi-year Eco-Schools Gold Award recipient, we provide a rigorous framework where students don’t just learn about the planet; they lead the movement to protect it.
The Gold Standard of Sustainability
Our "Gold" status represents the highest tier of international recognition from the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). For our community, this means:
-
A Seven-Step Framework: A permanent Student Eco-Committee that drives school policy.
-
Curriculum Integration: Sustainability is woven into the IB Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), and Diploma (DP) programs.
-
Operational Accountability: Measurable targets for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and biodiversity on campus.

Parents choose ICS Paris because we prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. Our "Eco-School" status is a primary vehicle for developing Global Citizenship.

The ICS Paris Eco-Week
Every March, the academic calendar pauses for Eco-Week—a high-impact, campus-wide immersion. This is not just a series of assemblies; it is a professional-grade summit where students transition from theory to advocacy.
-
Expert Integration: Students engage with external environmentalists, urban planners, and activists to solve real-world sustainability challenges.
-
The March Momentum: Serving as the annual heartbeat of our green mission, Eco-Week focuses on a specific global theme (e.g., Water Security or Circular Economy), culminating in student-led policy proposals for the campus.
Junk Kouture
ICS Paris has now built a remarkable two-year track record in the Junk Kouture competition. In our very first year, student Milene Hacheme reached the Grand Final — an extraordinary achievement for a debut entry that set the bar for everything that followed.
In 2026, DP2 students Emmanuelle Yap and Alix Nicolas Grau — mentored by Art Teacher Lucie Desaint — have continued that legacy by reaching the Paris City Final with their piece Bride Unbuilt, a gown made entirely from construction waste found in our own school. Two years of participation. Two finalists. A tradition of excellence that is still growing.
Our continued success in Junk Kouture is a living expression of our "Trash-to-Treasure" philosophy. This international competition challenges students to design, craft, and model high-end fashion made from 100% recycled materials — and ICS Paris students have risen to that challenge every single time.
